Wales AAM was set up in 1981 to co-ordinate anti-apartheid campaigns by local anti-apartheid groups, trade unions and churches in Wales. All its campaign materials were bilingual, in Welsh and English.

Sweatshirt advertising the AAM’s annual Freedom Run in Brockwell Park, Brixton, South London. The Freedom Run event featured stalls selling goods from the liberation movements and races where sponsored runners raised funds for the AAM.
